1. Scope and Role
This policy applies to digi-cam's iOS app, related services, and support operations. digi-cam is the service provider responsible for deciding how and why personal information is processed in the app.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, information generated through app use, and technical data required to operate core features.
- Account identity: Firebase UID, phone number used for OTP sign-in, account timestamps, and sign-in method (phone or guest).
- Profile data: username, display name, bio, profile image URL, and notification preferences.
- Social graph data: follow and follower relationships and counts.
- Circle data: circle metadata, ownership, and membership lists.
- Post data: captions, media URLs, visibility settings, tagged users, music metadata, and expiration settings.
- Engagement data: reactions, comments, and related timestamps.
- Messaging data: one-to-one conversation metadata, message content, image links, reactions, unread state, and timestamps.
- Notification data: in-app notification records, read state, and FCM token routing data.
- Safety data: block relationships, reports, and moderation metadata.
- Optional permission-based data: contact matching inputs and Apple Music search/track metadata when you enable those features.
3. How We Collect Information
- Directly from you when you register, edit your profile, post, message, react, comment, report, or contact support.
- Automatically from service operation, including activity and device token records needed for notifications and reliability.
- Through permissions you choose to grant, such as contacts, photos, notifications, and Apple Music access.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by law, we process personal information under one or more legal bases: performance of our contract with you (providing digi-cam), legitimate interests (safety, reliability, fraud prevention, product improvement), consent (optional permissions/features), and legal obligations (compliance and records retention).
5. How We Use Information
- Authenticate users and provide account access.
- Operate follows, circles, posts, feeds, comments, reactions, tags, and one-to-one direct messaging.
- Deliver in-app and push notifications.
- Enforce safety controls and moderation decisions.
- Maintain security, investigate abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve service performance.
- Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
6. Visibility and Sharing in digi-cam
Your audience settings (public, private, and circle-based) control who can view your content in normal app use. Recipients may still copy, capture, or re-share content they can access.
digi-cam enforces privacy behavior through product controls and app-layer filtering. Some backend paths currently permit broad authenticated read access on certain social/media paths. For that reason, do not assume end-to-end encryption or absolute technical isolation of shared content.
7. How We Disclose Information
- To other users according to your profile visibility, follow/circle relationships, messaging participation, and audience settings.
- To processors and infrastructure providers that help operate digi-cam, including Firebase services, APNs, Apple Music APIs, and iTunes Search API fallback.
- To law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
- In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or asset transfer, subject to applicable law.
8. International Data Transfers
digi-cam and service providers may process data in countries outside your residence. Where required, we use contractual and organizational safeguards intended to support lawful cross-border transfers.
9. Retention and Deletion
- Posts may expire based on user-selected duration and are removed by scheduled cleanup workflows.
- Orphaned media is periodically cleaned with a grace period to reduce accidental deletion.
- Conversations/messages remain until user deletion actions or account deletion workflows apply.
- Notification and safety records are retained as needed for feature operation, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and disputes.
- Account deletion requests trigger cascading removal workflows across profile data, posts, media, relationships, and auth credentials, subject to lawful retention requirements.
10. Your Controls in digi-cam
- Edit profile and account settings.
- Manage follows, circles, tags, and post visibility.
- Set notification preferences.
- Block or report users and content.
- Request account deletion in app settings.
- Use iOS settings to control contacts, photos, notifications, and Apple Music permissions.
11. U.S. State Privacy Rights
Depending on your state, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of certain personal information, and to appeal certain decisions. You may also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising privacy rights.
Submit requests at afkswitz@gmail.com. We may verify identity before fulfilling requests. Authorized agents may submit requests where permitted by law.
12. EEA/UK Rights
If EEA/UK privacy laws apply, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to certain processing, and data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
13. No Sale of Personal Information
digi-cam does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. digi-cam also does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under certain U.S. privacy laws.
14. Children and Minimum Age
digi-cam is not directed to children under 13 (or older where local law requires). If we learn that personal information was collected in violation of applicable children's privacy laws, we will take steps to delete it.
15. Security and Incident Response
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Direct messages are not marketed as end-to-end encrypted.
If we identify a data security incident requiring notice, we will provide notifications consistent with applicable law.
16. Third-Party Services and Links
digi-cam may integrate with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices.
17. Policy Updates
We may update this policy as digi-cam evolves. Material changes are posted in-app or on this page with an updated effective date.
